Today is National Superhero Day so here are some fun pieces we've framed over the years, even actual comic books!

 

Remembering a great trip with items you brought back to be framed. Three pieces put into the same frame. We put a medium brown mat board behind each one so there would be color showing through the openings in the three dimensional art. Then we floated all three on top of a black mat board and used spacers to lift the Museum glass off of the art pieces. It is all framed in a traditional rustic scoop frame with black on the inside portion and a light brown outside edge.

 

Small 4x6 original colorful abstract portrait of our client is mounted on foamcore to raise and float atop a black mat with a maroon suede single mat surrounding it that is raised with spacers to highlight the three dimensional feel. Framed in a wooden frame featuring a contemporary metallic black finish and using 99% UV protected Museum Glass for that invisible look. What a fun little piece!!

 

The pinwheels are hand sewn by the grandmother of our client from dresses worn by the grandmother and completed back in the 1930s. They were hand sewn on top of a pale green silk fabric matboard with spacers to lift the museum glass so as not to squish them. Then framed inside a stacked frame combination using a gold and turquoise ornate thin frame inside of a smooth flat gold frame.

 

Commemorating two different years of participation in the Boston Marathon. The poster is made up of all the participants names in teeny tiny white letters, this side shows the wife of our client's name. This made for a great birthday present! The poster is ultra preserve mounted on to a reverse bevel cut backing and then it and the bib numbers were floated on top of a dark gray matboard with spacers under Conservation Reflection Control Plexiglass and framed in a 1 1/8" inch black contemporary frame.

 

Examples of work done by our client showcases a gold wafer on a Mulberry suede matboard while two solar panels are mounted on a Tea Rose suede matboard. Both pieces had a personalized plaque made and are under museum glass with spacers in a contemporary black 1 1/8" inch wide frame.

 

Five adorable photo prints of digitally enhanced pictures of our clients dogs over the years. Each one was dry mounted in the heat press, was framed using acrylic spacers under Conservation Reflection Control (Non-Glare) glass that provides 99% UV protection, all in a 1 inch rustic brown wood frame.

 

This collection of patches, lapel pins, and challenge coins was designed as a gift for a U.S. Air Force retiree. All were mounted with a removable acid free plaque tape on to a charcoal gray mat board and framed in a textured camouflage black frame with spacers to lift the museum glass away from the items as a shallow shadowbox.

 

An interesting piece of art that has a three dimensional effect where the birds are raised above the level of the girl. Spacers were used so the glass doesn't squish the embossed effect. All framed in a metallic colored frame.

 

One of our favorites...NASA mission patches to commemorate all the missions our client worked on before his retirement.

We've framed just about everything!! Here are two rattlesnake skins attached to a faux suede mat board with spacers to lift the glass away from the skins. This shows off the curling edges and gives depth for the rattlers on the tails.
