May 18th is International Museum Day! Have you ever wanted a piece of art from a museum in your home? We've framed many prints of original pieces for people to hang in their homes. From contemporary modern art to the great masters.

 

This beautiful print was floated on top of a coordinating mat board to be able to show every inch of the art that came out to the edge of the paper. The wood frame has a dark gray iron metallic finish with dental edging on the outside edge. It is displayed under Museum Glass with 99% UV protection and that no glass look. It turned out #Gorgeous!

 

Have you ever had your framed art get damaged? Either in a move or it just jumping off of the wall? This matted print of Thomas Kinkade's art was originally purchased already matted and framed over a decade ago, but the glass broke and the frame was damaged beyond repair, so we reframed it with an ornate gold frame and added Conservation Clear glass with 99% UV protection. It's like updating an old friend and the original mat was not damaged so we were able to reuse it.

 

How to commemorate that new job? Frame the first dollar you earned!! We floated this one dollar bill on top of a black mat and framed it with an ornate black frame that features a silver lip, all under Museum Glass for UV protection and that "no glass" look!

The pinwheels are hand sewn by the grandmother of our client from dresses worn by the grandmother and completed back in the 1930s. They were hand sewn on top of a pale green silk fabric matboard with spacers to lift the museum glass so as not to squish them. Then framed inside a stacked frame combination using a gold and turquoise ornate thin frame inside of a smooth flat gold frame.

 

Painted bark from Mexico is floated on a coordinating color matboard to show the edges under regular clear glass, all in a contrasting carved ornate frame.

 

An antique original oil painting that was rolled up and wrinkled. We restretched the canvas on to wooden stretcher bars and then framed in an ornate gold frame with a black outside color.

 

Our client brought this print back from their travels to Vienna's Austrian Gallery when they viewed the original of Gustav Klimt's "The Kiss". This large print was mounted with Ultra Preserve heat mount to lay it flat after it had been rolled. Then a double mat with an added black color strip was added to a stacked frame made from two different mouldings, an ornated gold and a smooth dark brown used inside. Placed under museum glass to make it look like the classic piece of art it is!
